About

The Center of Statistics brings together the wealth of statistical expertise from the whole University of Turku. Our aims have been set on providing high quality teaching, being on the cutting edge of research in both theory and practice of Statistics and making sure researchers and students at our university have all the statistical know-how they need at their disposal. We strive to improve cooperation between different fields of science by finding new and innovative ways of using statistical methods.

The Center is formed around the Statistics research and teaching staff who work as a part of the department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Turku. Our roster also includes biostatisticians, statisticians, teachers and other experts of statistical methods from all around our university working together to form a layer of interaction.

The Center’s board of directors is chosen every three years from representatives of different faculties. The Center is lead by a Statistics professor who is also in charge of the subject of Statistics at the University of Turku.
