A short course in statistics
A short course in
BASIC STATISTICAL ANALYSES IN THEORY AND IN SPSS
A Three-Day Intensive Course Given in English, 2 ECTS
Objectives
The objective is learning the basic concepts and methods of descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, and how to apply them to perform basic statistical analyses. The participants will learn to conduct analyses in SPSS using the menu driven user interface or the syntax editor. The course will improve the knowledge of statistical methodology and enable participants to conduct basic data analyses independently.
Methods
The course consists of lectures and SPSS demos. During the course data analytical questions are formulated with an example data set. Basic statistical tools are then used for answering these questions. In addition to the technical solution, the assumptions underlying the use of each methodology and appropriate interpretation and reporting of results will be discussed.
